Early one bright morning, Bibi rushed out to the backyard pond after hearing Mom say that one of the little ducklings had wandered off again. Curious and determined, Bibi grabbed a small stick and went straight toward the tall grass near the water, calling softly, “Duckling… where are you?”
The pond was peaceful, with leaves floating gently on the surface. Bibi scanned every corner, looking under bushes and checking behind the rocks. Suddenly, she heard a faint splash. Thinking it might be the missing duckling, Bibi carefully stepped closer to the water’s edge.
But to her surprise, instead of a duckling, she saw something shimmering beneath the surface. She knelt down and gasped—a whole group of fish was swimming in circles right near her feet! Some were tiny and silver, others bigger with beautiful orange patterns. They glided gracefully through the water, sparkling under the sunlight.
Bibi’s eyes widened with excitement. She had only been trying to find the duckling, but this discovery felt like a magical surprise. She dipped her hand gently into the cool water, and the fish swam around her fingers as if greeting her. Bibi giggled, amazed at how many there were.
Just then, she heard a soft “quack.” Turning around, she spotted the naughty duckling waddling out from behind a bush, shaking water from its feathers. Bibi scooped it up with relief and held it close.
Before heading home, she looked back at the fish once more, grateful for the unexpected adventure. What started as a simple search had turned into a beautiful moment filled with wonder.
With the duckling safe in her arms and a story to tell, Bibi happily walked back home—smiling at the surprise the pond had gifted her that morning.
